We were so happy to team up with Morris Animal Refuge for Volunteer Days last week! We learned that NACE and Morris Animal Refuge have one thing in common: both organizations are the first of their kind. Morris Animal Refuge is the first non-profit animal rescue in the country and NACE is the first non-profit catering organization in the country!

While volunteering, we enjoyed spending quality time with cats, walking dogs, cleaning food bowls, sweeping their rooms and providing an afternoon feeding.

Our own Director of Community Relations Billy Handy reflected on his walk with Cagney, a two year-old dog in South Philly. "What a cute pup," Handy said. "Cagney is up for adoption. He’s super friendly and ready to play!" Handy organized volunteer days along with Madison Gentile who serves on his community relations committee,

Director of Programs Nicole Trotter volunteered as well.  "I got to hang with my little buddy, Cleo, from Morris Animal Refuge," Trotter said. "He’s super friendly and likes red solo cups. Cleo is 3 years old and needs a forever home."

Pictured above from left to right are Cleo, Norman, Cagney, and Diamond, just a few of the pets looking for a home of their own while being cared for at Morris Animal Refuge. Again, thank you to all that came out to lend a hand! Moving forward to early October, we are planning an amazing gala at Hilton Penn's Landing to benefit our furry friends! Stay tuned for details!

P.S. Cleo was adopted this week! As well as Puppy, the cat that likes to go for walks...like a dog!
